This lecture delves into the interrogation of the local translatome through proximity-specific ribosome profiling, focusing on translational dynamics with high spatiotemporal resolution. Key concepts include spatial regulation of ribosomal protein translation, the architecture of a mammalian cell, and the role of the endoplasmic reticulum in protein synthesis.
