The Unite de la Prof. Brisken, led by Prof. Cathrin Brisken, focuses on understanding the role of hormones in breast cancer prevention and therapy. Their research delves into the mechanisms of estrogen receptor positive breast cancer dormancy, epithelial reconversion, and patient-specific hormone sensitivities. By studying epithelial-mesenchymal plasticity and the activation of the mammary stem cell niche, the team aims to uncover new insights into breast cancer progression. Through the use of intraductal xenografts and unbiased clustering methods, they aim to enhance global gene expression analysis and recapitulate the histopathological spectrum of human breast cancer lesions.
