The Section de Physique at EPFL is dedicated to exploring the nature of the universe, from the smallest particles to galaxies. Physicists are trained to possess high-level theoretical and experimental skills, enabling them to work in various fields such as fundamental and applied research, engineering, and education. The curriculum includes not only fundamental physics disciplines but also teachings in humanities and social sciences to raise awareness among students about the ethical and environmental implications of their future professional activities. With a strong emphasis on mathematics, physics students at EPFL engage in a rigorous scientific approach, project design, and implementation, preparing them to address modern scientific challenges and contribute to socio-economic and environmental solutions.
